Music Background & Credentials
B.M. McGill University, Music Composition (Viola Concentration)
Professional Experience
I recently graduated from McGill University's Schulich School of Music, which I attended on full merit scholarship. Past teachers include Brian Cherney, Melissa Hui, Frederic Lambert, Choong-Jin Chang, and Kurt Nikannen. While at McGill, I was awarded the Elaine Bausher Post Tuition Scholarship by the Reading Music Foundation as well as the Gladys Glasco Memorial Bursary and the Schulich School of Music Bursary. I have participated in masterclasses led by Joan Tower, Gabriela Lena Frank, Derek Bermel, Steve Tenenbom, and Mai Motobuchi, and have spent past summers enjoying supportive artistic communities at the Orford Academy of Music ('17), the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music ('17), Bowdoin International Music Festival (’16), and Meadowmount School of Music (’13,’15). In 2018, I am looking forward to collaborations with the Chiara String Quartet and M5 Mexican Brass Ensemble.
Teaching & Other Details
I offer lessons in the Suzuki Method on violin, viola, and beginner piano, and I encourage my students to develop thorough technique, to learn a rich and varied repertoire, and to deeply explore theoretical concepts. I specialize in teaching adult string students, and I currently have a studio of more than 20 adult students.
