My goal as a teacher is to nurture a love of music in each one of my students while building strong foundations in technique, reading, music theory and musical expression. I believe in positive reinforcement as a means of encouragement and I make sure to create an environment where my students feel valued and supported. I quickly assess and adjust to each student's pace, interests, and goals. In particular I follow the musical interests of my students and draw from a wide variety of musical resources to make sure that they remain engaged and motivated by music that inspires them. My students believe in themselves and work hard to achieve their goals. Students perform twice a year in bi-annual studio recitals and are also encouraged to participate in various festivals and competitions in the greater Vancouver area, as well as prepare for Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations.
Availability
I teach in my studio Monday to Friday afternoons and evenings. I am available for house calls on the weekend.
