Hi, My name is Cyril Lojda and I am a highly experienced drummer and educator. I graduated from the Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo and studied with great drummers like Terry Lynn Carrington and Neal Smith at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. My performing experience includes being part of multiple jazz bands in Europe, which opened for Trilok Gurtu, Ploctones and Mikromusic. Since I began teaching drums at the Berklee City Music program in 2012, I realized how much I love to share my knowledge about this beautiful instrument. I believe that everybody can play the drums, because everybody has a heartbeat. In my opinion, a teacher is someone who helps you to discover your primordial sense of rhythm and groove. I am now accepting new students in my music studio at Larkdowne Rd. (near UVIC and Camosun College), Victoria BC.
