Professional Experience
From 2012 I've been a guitar instructor at Rock This Way (Burlington & Oakville). From 2008 I've taught private guitar and music theory lessons from my home. I've been playing live professionally for over 10 years. My current band 'The Dakota' (www.facebook.com/thedakotarock) released our debut album 'Lost In Blue' in 2013. I've played lead and rhythm guitar for various Classic Rock and Blues cover bands, performing regularly at local clubs. In high school I played guitar in the junior and senior jazz band as well as trumpet in the junior and senior concert band.
Teaching & Other Details
I have experience teaching students who are just starting to learn the instrument and play it as a hobby. I also have experience with students who are studying guitar in preparation for a post-secondary education in music. I've taught students songs, scales, chords, arpeggios, sight reading, ear training, notation and more. Some of my strengths in teaching include a constant strive for improvement as well as an extreme attentiveness for detail when learning and teaching. I am able to relate with my students and share my own experiences to better help them achieve their goals. Lastly, I continually seek out fresh ways to encourage students to exercise their creativity, whether from a new technique, style of music, or merely applying a student’s existing knowledge in a different way.

My lesson times are very flexible.
Preferred Teaching Place
Lessons typically take place at my home studio; I'm also able to travel to accommodate students.
