Montreal Piano, Music Theory Instructor Mehrshid

Mehrshid obtained her Bachelor's degree of music from the National Regional Conservatory of Metz in France and her Master's degree in music, one in Piano Performance and one in music pedagogy at Laval University in Quebec city. She obtained her PhD in Piano Performance and Research at UQAM University.

Her teaching skills have developed through conservatory classes, master classes, university and related work shops and have provided her with the experience necessary to help all her students succeed regardless of their age or ability. On a professional level, Mehrshid has participated in Master classes with distinguished international professors like Peter Oundijan, Eric Ewazen, James Lebens, Gerhard Greschleger, and Brigitte Meyer. She has also been the winner of several awards and distinctions.

She suggests varied approches of piano learning based on the age, level of student and the goals to be reached. From Bastien and Alfred methods to Royal Conservatory, to classical favorites, etc. She creates a challenging yet fun atmosphere in order to enhance her students' desire to learn. Aside from focusing on the technical aspects of playing, Mehrshid's students will have the opportunity to try sight-seeing and improvisation in each lesson. She enriches her lessons with some background of the history, theory and cultural aspects of the work the student is focusing on, in order to help them gain a better understanding on the music and help them improve.
