Professional Experience
I started playing guitar at age 13 and bass soon after that. I studied privately as a teenager and furthered my studies in the music program at Vanier College. I went on to teach guitar and bass at the West Island Music Academy. I've played in numerous bands, recorded several albums and toured extensively. I have a thorough knowledge of music in multiple genres.
Teaching & Other Details
I often start off beginners with the Hal Leonard Method book. Which provides good basic exercises to improve their playing. Supplemented with music they are interested in. I can teach them any song or style of music they'd like to learn. When preparing a student for music in college, I make sure they meet all the requirements necessary in order to pass their audition. They must learn all their scales, arpeggios, chords and modes. I also usually give them a strong base in Jazz and Classical and make sure they are apt at sight reading. Some ear training and theory are also essential. Whether the goal is to be a professional musician or just learning for fun as a hobby I aim to make the lessons enjoyable and satisfying.
