Music Background & Credentials
Currently holding a Music Diploma from Capilano University majoring in piano, Conducting Certificate, and ARCT Performer's. Continuing University studies for Bachelor of Music.
Professional Experience
I have been performing ever since I started learning piano. I have won several awards from local music festivals including the Vancouver Kiwanis, and BCCM music festivals. As an accompanist, I have worked with several soloists including instrumentalists and vocalists preparing concerts, auditions, and recitals. I have also accompanied the SFU Choir, and the 2 Choirs at Capilano University (Capilano Singers and Festival Chorus). My passion in music expands into modern music, performing as a soloist and in bands. I am an active songwriter and composer, exploring music in multiple genres.
Teaching & Other Details
For beginners, I use the Leila Fletcher series to effectively help students learn to read music as fast as possible. I excel at preparing students for RCM examinations and music festivals. Many of my students receive First Class Honours with Distinction for RCM piano/theory/history exams. For students interested in pop music, I teach basic jazz and reading chords. I hold student recitals once or twice annually for students to have more opportunities to share and celebrate their hard work and passion in music.
